- Hi there, i'm a 26 year old student in Oregon studying psychology. I've had the amazing opportunity to receive two beautiful corneal transplants, the first in September 2006 and the second in July 2007. Special thanks to Dr. Mark Terry at Devers Eye Institute. My vision is still fluctuating a great deal and I'm still restricted to using a long cane at least after dark but I've experienced a vast improvement in my vision over the past two years. I think it's wonderfull that someone's set up a way for corneal transplant candidates and recipients to communicate. When I was choosing whether or not to have the surgery I was lucky enough to be able to hear the experience of two other women who'd already had the surgery but I would have liked to have had some more substantial communication with them. Kudos to those who keep this site going!! I'm looking forward to sharing my experience and hearing what others experiences have been.
